PHOTOVOLTAIC is a technical and trading company founded in 1995 and has been operating for 25 years with great success in the field of Renewable Energy Sources (RES).
The leader and founder of the company is Marios P. Sigalas who has managed to establish Photovoltaic as one of the most important companies in the field of Renewable Energy Sources, with the experienced and specialized executives that accompany him. His father, Panagiotis Sigalas, who with his knowledge and many years of experience as a professor of Physics at the Eugenides Foundation and as an engineer at Siemens, was a valuable helper and advisor in this effort. Panagiotis Sigalas was one of the founding members of the Hellenic Association of Solar Energy Industries and the pioneer of the spread of photovoltaics in Greece, carrying out the construction of the first projects as early as the beginning of the 1980s.
Marios P. Sigalas is an Electrical Engineer with a Master's degree in Energy and Environment from the University of Sussex, UK. In addition to his many years of involvement with Photovoltaic, he has worked as a teacher at Institutes of Vocational Training I.E.K. teaching "Electronic Automation", at the Institute for Education and Training of Members of the Technical Chamber of Greece I. E.E.C.E.M. presenting the programme "Renewable Energy Sources" and at the Technical University of Crete in the Department of Environmental Engineering with seminars on Renewable Energy Sources. He has been a PhD candidate with a scholarship from the Ministry of Education at the Department of Agricultural Engineering of the Agricultural University of Athens in collaboration with VUT BRNO of the Czech Republic on the topic "Pumping and Desalination with RES". He is a founding member of the Hellenic Association of Photovoltaic Companies (HELAPCO) of which he has been the vice-president. He is also a founding member of the German company Phaesun GmbH, which has been active in the field of renewable energy on an international level since 2001.
